<p class="texto">De acordo com representação enviada ao MPF pelos parlamentares, “a conduta criminosa de tratamento de cura gay pelos Representados deve ser imediatamente coibida, assim como investigadas as vítimas já submetidas à tamanha violência, para que vidas sejam preservadas”. Os deputados afirmam que a <a href="/brasil/2023/06/5102798-mito-da-cura-gay-causa-danos-psicologicos-profundos.html">prática é vedada pelo Conselho Federal de Psicologia</a> e sugerem que seja movida uma ação pelos crimes de homotransfobia, tortura psicológica e incitação ao suicídio.</p>

A igreja evangélica é apontada como responsável pelo retiro "Maanaim", que oferece serviços para "converter" jovens homossexuais e bissexuais à heterossexualidade . A influenciadora Karol Eller teria frequentado o local uma semana antes de tirar a própria vida, em 12 de outubro.
De acordo com representação enviada ao MPF pelos parlamentares, “a conduta criminosa de tratamento de cura gay pelos Representados deve ser imediatamente coibida, assim como investigadas as vítimas já submetidas à tamanha violência, para que vidas sejam preservadas”. Os deputados afirmam que a prática é vedada pelo Conselho Federal de Psicologia e sugerem que seja movida uma ação pelos crimes de homotransfobia, tortura psicológica e incitação ao suicídio.
Os parlamentares ainda acrescentam que o retiro “Maanaim” também ocorre em outras regiões do país, e pedem que o MPF investigue entidades, profissionais, grupos e empresas envolvidos na atividade em todo o Brasil. “Os tratamentos de cura gay são verdadeiras práticas de tortura e agressão a toda a população LGBTQIAPN+, cuja orientação sexual ou designação de gênero são características inerentes a cada sujeito, sendo impossível sua alteração”, diz o documento.
