<p class="texto">"Nunca havia visto algo assim" em 20 anos tratando vítimas de traumas, disse Renana Eitan, diretora do serviço psiquiátrico do Centro Médico Sourasky de Tel Aviv-Ichilov. "O abuso físico, sexual, mental e psicológico dos reféns que retornaram é terrível".</p>
<p class="texto">O centro recebeu 14 reféns libertados pelo Hamas. Alguns relataram que foram drogados, inclusive com o que os médicos acreditam serem medicamentos psicotrópicos com efeitos sedativos.</p>
<p class="texto">"Queriam controlar as crianças. Sabem que, se as drogarem, ficarão quietas. Uma das meninas recebeu por algumas semanas cetamina", um anestésico dissociativo poderoso, conhecido por causar uma sensação de desconexão do ambiente.</p>
<p class="texto">Outros ex-reféns afirmaram que foram atormentados psicologicamente, disse Renana. A um deles foi dito que sua mulher estava morta, quando ela permanecia viva em Israel.</p>
<p class="texto">As crianças foram separadas de suas famílias e obrigadas a assistir a "vídeos brutais". Uma paciente contou que permaneceu com outras pessoas em escuridão total por mais de quatro dias.</p>
<p class="texto">"Ficaram psicóticos, tiveram alucinações", disse Renana. Alguns dos que retornaram têm pensamentos suicidas desde então, acrescentou.</p>
<h3>Estados dissociativos </h3>
<p class="texto">Cerca de 1.200 pessoas morreram no ataque sangrento do Hamas e outras 240 foram sequestradas, segundo autoridades israelenses. Um acordo de trégua de uma semana permitiu a libertação de 105 reféns em Gaza, em troca de 240 presos palestinos. Acredita-se que 137 reféns ainda estejam em poder do Hamas.</p>
<p class="texto">Alguns dos reféns libertados continuam experimentando estados dissociativos, disse Renana. "Uma hora, sabem que estão no centro médico Ichilov. Outra hora, acham que estão novamente com o Hamas".</p>
<p class="texto">Segundo a diretora, as consequências para a saúde mental são alarmantes. Calcula-se que cerca de 5% da população israelense - cerca de 400 mil pessoas - tenha algum sintoma de transtorno de estresse pós-traumático (TEPT).</p>
<p class="texto">Tomer Zadik, de 24 anos, a por tratamento no centro médico desde que levou um tiro no braço durante o festival de música Supernova, onde disse que ou horas escondido enquanto ouvia as vozes dos combatentes do Hamas. </p>
<p class="texto">"Palavras não conseguem descrever as atrocidades", disse Zadik, que ainda tem pesadelos com o ataque. "Queriam nos destruir, não apenas fisicamente. Queriam destruir mentalmente toda a nação de Israel. Mas não seremos destruídos".</p>

"Nunca havia visto algo assim" em 20 anos tratando vítimas de traumas, disse Renana Eitan, diretora do serviço psiquiátrico do Centro Médico Sourasky de Tel Aviv-Ichilov. "O abuso físico, sexual, mental e psicológico dos reféns que retornaram é terrível".
O centro recebeu 14 reféns libertados pelo Hamas. Alguns relataram que foram drogados, inclusive com o que os médicos acreditam serem medicamentos psicotrópicos com efeitos sedativos.
"Queriam controlar as crianças. Sabem que, se as drogarem, ficarão quietas. Uma das meninas recebeu por algumas semanas cetamina", um anestésico dissociativo poderoso, conhecido por causar uma sensação de desconexão do ambiente.
Outros ex-reféns afirmaram que foram atormentados psicologicamente, disse Renana. A um deles foi dito que sua mulher estava morta, quando ela permanecia viva em Israel.
As crianças foram separadas de suas famílias e obrigadas a assistir a "vídeos brutais". Uma paciente contou que permaneceu com outras pessoas em escuridão total por mais de quatro dias.
"Ficaram psicóticos, tiveram alucinações", disse Renana. Alguns dos que retornaram têm pensamentos suicidas desde então, acrescentou.

Cerca de 1.200 pessoas morreram no ataque sangrento do Hamas e outras 240 foram sequestradas, segundo autoridades israelenses. Um acordo de trégua de uma semana permitiu a libertação de 105 reféns em Gaza, em troca de 240 presos palestinos. Acredita-se que 137 reféns ainda estejam em poder do Hamas.
Alguns dos reféns libertados continuam experimentando estados dissociativos, disse Renana. "Uma hora, sabem que estão no centro médico Ichilov. Outra hora, acham que estão novamente com o Hamas".
Segundo a diretora, as consequências para a saúde mental são alarmantes. Calcula-se que cerca de 5% da população israelense - cerca de 400 mil pessoas - tenha algum sintoma de transtorno de estresse pós-traumático (TEPT).
Tomer Zadik, de 24 anos, a por tratamento no centro médico desde que levou um tiro no braço durante o festival de música Supernova, onde disse que ou horas escondido enquanto ouvia as vozes dos combatentes do Hamas.
"Palavras não conseguem descrever as atrocidades", disse Zadik, que ainda tem pesadelos com o ataque. "Queriam nos destruir, não apenas fisicamente. Queriam destruir mentalmente toda a nação de Israel. Mas não seremos destruídos".
