Moll ficou marcado por interpretar Bull Shannon, um dos oficiais de Justiça da série Night Court , que foi ao ar originalmente entre 1984 e 1992 nos Estados Unidos, pela NBC. Também esteve presente em alguns filmes de comédia do início dos anos 2000, como Evolução e Todo Mundo Em Pânico 2 .
Na TV, Richard ainda fez diversos papéis. Em séries conhecidas, fez breves aparições em episódios específicos, como em Highlander , Sabrina: Aprendiz de Feiticeira e Baywatch .
